62. The representative of Colombia supported the statement by Indonesia as coordinator of the Like-Minded Countries' Group. Colombia, in its dual position as a mega-diverse and developing country, recognized the need and mandate to discuss those issues so that the biodiversity of the country could be given due consideration. She said that the TRIPS Agreement was in line with the objectives of the CBD and underlined the synergies of both instruments. She reiterated Colombia's interest in continuing discussions with a focus on establishing a link between the Agreement and the CBD. Further, she supported the proposal to invite the CBD Secretariat to brief the Council on the results of the Nagoya meeting.
