17.3 Contribution of intellectual property to facilitate the transfer of environmentally sound technology
667. My delegation wishes to comment on the work being carried out on an issue that has been referred to repeatedly in various meetings of this Council since 2013, namely intellectual property's contribution to facilitating the transfer of environmentally rational technology. 668. As this Council is aware, in 2013 Ecuador submitted its proposal on this issue, which has been the subject of an active and interesting discussion. Being as this is a serious matter for Ecuador, and on the basis of the discussion that has taken place, it has been considered necessary to gather further information and to continue reviewing this issue at national level and with the other countries and organizations concerned. 669. In this light, Ecuador wishes to inform the Members of this Council that it is currently engaged in a consultation process and that it will keep this body duly informed of any progress made in this respect.

17.5. The Chairman said that the delegation of Ecuador wished to make a statement under "Other Business" concerning the "Contribution of intellectual property to facilitate the transfer of environmentally sound technology".
