The representative of the United States thanked the delegation of India for its paper and wished to underline the developmental benefits of electronic commerce to which she had referred in her intervention. Electronic commerce promoted the growth of services and goods in the cultural area and was important for any enterprise, including small-and medium-sized enterprises. She also associated herself with many of the remarks made by Australia, in particular on the issue of technological neutrality.
