Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 (Certain Provisions) (Commencement) Order 2007 (S.I. No. 157 of 2007)
This instrument appoints the day on which section 198 of the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 (No. 28 of 2000) comes into operation. The purpose of section 198 is to ensure that copies of books first made available in the State are delivered to certain libraries. The section updates the deposit scheme as set out in section 56 of the 1963 Copyright Act (repealed).
This instrument was signed by the Minister of State on 29th March 2007 specifying that it will come into operation on 1st day of May 2007. It is also set out that the Order does not apply to sections 98, 199 and 247 of the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 (No. 28 of 2000).
