Broadcasting Act 2009 (Number 18 of 2009)
This Act revises the law relating to broadcasting services and content. It also establishes the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland; dissolves the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland and the Broadcasting Complaints Commission; amends and repeals certain enactments relating to broadcasting; provides for matters relating to TV licences; provides for the regulation and provision of telecommunications services and provides for connected matters which include an amendment to copyright legislation.
This Act was enacted and commenced on the same date.
Section 183 of the Act makes amendments to definitions contained in the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 (No 28 of 2000). See IP/N/1/IRL/C/3.
