- Amendment Act No. 125/2016 Coll. of Laws of the Slovak Rep. - Amendment Act No. 242/2017 Coll. of Laws of the Slovak Rep. - Amendment Act No. 291/2018 Coll. of Laws of the Slovak Rep. The Trade Marks Act from 2009 is fully in line with the harmonized rules of the EU and fully in line with the international obligations of the Slovak Republic. The Trademark law has been amended three times since 2009. The 2016 and 2017 amendments were of minor character and were based on changes in related national legislation dealing with procedural aspects of enforcement. The 2018 amendment (in force from 14 January 2019) was based on the transposition of Directive (EU) 2015/2436 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2015 to approximate the laws of the Member States relating to trademarks.
