Trademark Act (Act No. 127 of April 13, 1959)
The Trademark Act was revised in order to enable Japan to accede to the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks, which is designed to harmonize and streamline domestic filing procedures for trademarks, which currently vary country by country. Furthermore, it was revised to amend registration fees and renewal fees.
