(i) Law is proposed for the protection of layout-designs of integrated circuits under a sui generis system in line with the TRIPS Agreement. This law provides for the protection of original layout-designs and makes provisions with regard to, inter alia, right to protection, scope of protection, commencement and duration of protection, requirements of the application, registration, assignment, transmission and enforcement.
(ii) The protection of layout-designs expires at the end of the 10th calendar year from the date of commencement of such protection.
