The representative of Argentina agreed with the Chairman's statement that the system being negotiated had to be seen as a whole and that the requirements of the notification phase made sense in the context of the legal effects provided for in each proposal on the table. She believed that the elements to be notified under the joint proposal were sufficient for the establishment of a system to facilitate the protection of geographical indications for wines and spirits. Her delegation was only in a position to make preliminary comments on the elements raised by the Chairman and, given the complexity of the issues, would need to send the text to the capital for further analysis.
