The representative of Canada said that her delegation would be willing to grant observer status to the intergovernmental organizations which already had such status in the regular session of the TRIPS Council. Her delegation believed that the presence of WIPO was very important to the Council's work. With regard to OIV's request, she said that, regrettably, Canada had to reserve its position.
