73. The representative of Australia fully agreed with the comments made by the delegation of the United States. He was aware that in the EC's original proposal tabled some years ago there had been no heavy-handed dispute settlement system, but just a system of consultation. Hungary had put forward an amendment which involved this arbitration system and the EC had endorsed that position. He asked the EC delegation to clarify its position regarding this point.
