The representative of Argentina asked whether the registration model proposed by the EC meant delegating to the Secretariat faculties that national authorities had to date; in other words, the Secretariat would be the one that would apply the definition of GI and would interfere in a process involving what a Member had legitimately notified to the WTO as a name protected on its territory.
