112. The representative of Switzerland said that her last intervention had been misunderstood. She did not say that it was the Secretariat's task to examine whether or not each notified GI respected the national legislation of the country which had notified it or the TRIPS Agreement. It was just a brief examination as to form to ensure that there was some basis for the notification. She recalled that the last interventions made by Canada mentioned that there were documents to be supplied with the indications provided. That was where the examination should take place, not at another level.
