The discussions, which had not only touched on intellectual property but also on ethical, social and cultural areas, should be continued in the future. Many delegations had requested time to consider written submissions made, including in the context of the General Council. He suggested that the Council take note of the statements made and revert to this matter at its next meeting, taking into account the outcome of the Seattle Ministerial Conference.
