The Chairperson noted that by means of a communication, dated 12 January 2000, the European Communities and their member States had requested consultations with the United States regarding Section 337 of the US Tariff Act of 1930 and amendments thereto. On 17 March 2000, the report of the panel on Canada - Patent Protection of Pharmaceutical Products (WT/DS114) had been circulated to Members.
