In the Civil Code there are specific provisions related to the protection of intellectual property rights, such as in Article 178, paragraph 10, VII, which regulates the prescriptional term related to the violation of copyright. There are also provisions of a more generic nature, such as those in Articles 2 to 179 (general provisions related to civil legislation – subjects, assets and juridical facts); 524 to 648 (general provisions related to property); 1.079 to 1.187 and 1.288 to 1.330 (general provisions related to various contracts – purchase and sale, exchange, donation, etc.); 1.518 to 1.532 (general provisions concerning obligations related to illegal acts); 1.572 to 1.805 (general provisions concerning succession).
