The representative of Hong Kong, China said that the demand for technical cooperation was likely to increase in the next few years, in view of the fact that the current least-developed country Members would need to comply with their obligations under the Agreement as of 1 January 2006 and a number of other least-developed countries were negotiating their accession to the WTO. His delegation therefore wished to urge other developed country Members to participate in the scheme and to offer assistance as outlined in document IP/C/W/241.
