28. The Chairperson recalled that, at the previous meeting, the Council had agreed to revert to the review of Swaziland at this meeting. However, the Swazi Ambassador had written to him on 1 March 2002 informing him that due to circumstances beyond its control, Swaziland had not been able to make notification of its legislation or submit replies to the questions posed by various delegations. The Ambassador had said that Swaziland would submit its legislation and written replies in another two weeks and stood ready to send a delegation to meet with the Chairperson and discuss the replies and/or attend the next session of the Council.
29. The Chairperson urged these delegations to submit their responses to outstanding initial questions without delay.
