1. Since the former Chair of the TRIPS Council had relinquished his post and the Chair of the General Council had not yet been in a position to conclude his consultations on a new Chair, the Council elected the Chairperson of the Trade Policy Review Body, H.E. Mrs Puangrat Asavapisit of Thailand, to act as interim Chair of the Council for the meeting.
