109. The Chairman said that the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam had become the 150th Member of the WTO on 11 January 2007. In paragraph 471 of the Report of the Working Party on the Accession of Viet Nam (WT/ACC/VNM/48), the representative of Viet Nam had confirmed that his Government would take all actions necessary to fully comply with all of the provisions of the TRIPS Agreement from the date of accession to the WTO, without recourse to any transitional period. This commitment had been incorporated in paragraph 2 of the Protocol on the Accession of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (WT/L/662).
