Ambassador István Major (Hungary)
D.iii.a Review of the legislation of Ecuador, Mongolia and Panama
32. The Chairperson recalled that, at its next meeting, on 1 and 2 December 1998, the Council would review the national implementing legislation of Ecuador, Mongolia and Panama. Advance notices of questions for this review (to the Member concerned and to the Secretariat) were due by 15 September. A set of questions for each of these Members had been received by the Secretariat from Japan and would be circulated to delegations shortly.3 33. The Chairperson suggested that the Council urge any other delegation which had questions for this review exercise to submit their questions as soon as possible and preferably well in advance of the meeting of 1 and 2 December, so that the countries to be reviewed would have sufficient time to prepare their responses in advance of that meeting. 34. The Chairperson said that the Secretariat had not yet received responses to the Checklist of Issues on Enforcement4 from Ecuador or Mongolia and suggested that the Council urge these delegations, once again, to complete their notifications as soon as they could.
