60. The Chairperson informed the Council of developments in disputes regarding TRIPS matters. He recalled, in particular, that at the Council's meeting of 19 September 1997, the Chair had informed the Council that the DSB had established a panel pursuant to requests by Japan, the European Communities and the United States concerning measures affecting the automobile industry in Indonesia. The US complaint in this case referred to, inter alia, Articles 3, 20 and 65 of the TRIPS Agreement (see document IP/D/6). The report of this panel (document WT/DS59/R), circulated to WTO Members on 2 July 1998, had been adopted by the DSB at its meeting of 23 July 1998.
