The Chairperson recalled that, at its meeting in December 1998, the Council had established dates for its first three meetings in 1999 and would consider further its autumn schedule at the present meeting. In the light of informal discussions that he had held on the matter, he suggested that the Council hold a single meeting in the autumn of 1999, from 20 to 22 October.
