Amendment of Article 17 of Law No. 1733/1987 on Patents, of Article 17 para. 1 of Presidential Decree 45/1991 on topographies of semiconductor products and of Article 28 paras. 1-2 of Presidential Decree 259/1997 on Designs Article 53 of Law 3966/2011 harmonizes national legislation with EU Directive 2004/48/EC on the enforcement of intellectual property rights (IPR). New enforcement measures are introduced as well as intermediary liability. In particular, rules are provided for: 1. the presentation of evidence, 2. the right of information on the origin and distribution networks of IPR infringing goods or services, 3. interlocutory injunctions or orders for the seizure or delivery of goods suspected of infringing an intellectual property right as a provisional measure, 4. the award of pecuniary compensation to the injured party, 5. the award of damages, and 6. the expansion of the list of persons entitled to apply for provisional measures, procedures and remedies. In case of infringement of design rights and of topographies of semiconductor products, all above-mentioned measures are applicable.
