The EU Twinning project is set to improve the technical and institutional capabilities of the Egyptian Patent Office in order to increase the number of patent applications and improve the protection of intellectual property in Egypt. A further objective is to bring together the academic world with small and medium-sized enterprises and to familiarise them with patent application in compliance with EU standards

There is indeed a strong political will in Kazakhstan to combat counterfeiting and piracy in the digital environment through systematic root cause analysis and strengthening of corresponding mechanisms, inter alia, through the use of foreign experience. However, the structures are still in the process of building and changing the target group at the levels of change of consciousness. Action requires further consideration of the topic or continued support. Change of consciousness and change of action are influenced by many external factors in the partner state (e.g. political framework conditions), so that the effects are to be examined in the course of a later evaluation.
