17. The representative of the United States expressed his support for the proposal made by the European Communities. As he had mentioned at the previous meeting of the Council, his delegation intended to submit some questions bilaterally to selected Members due to its particular interest in their situation, but that should not preclude a broader systematic review in the Council.
