The Chairperson recalled that the delegation of Japan, in February 1998, had posed a question to the delegation of Ireland in relation to a response given by the Government of Ireland in the context of the review of legislation that the Council had undertaken at its meeting in July 1996. A response to this question had been received by the Secretariat and would be circulated in the IP/Q/- series of documents shortly.
