11. The Chairperson said that since the last meeting, amendments to legislation notified earlier had been received from Sweden, Spain, Japan and Bulgaria, which would be circulated in the IP/N/1/- series of documents as soon as possible.
12. The Chairperson drew attention to a communication from Madagascar which had been circulated in document IP/C/W/170. This communication concerned the application of Article 27.1 of the TRIPS Agreement, the availability of patent protection without discrimination as to the field of technology of inventions, and the applicable 20 year term of protection. It also provided information on problems encountered in the implementation of the TRIPS Agreement.
