Ambassador Chak Mun See (Singapore)
Chairperson
D.iii Arrangements for reviews in November 2000 and in the year 2001
32. Turning to the reviews in November 2000, the Chairperson recalled that fourteen Members would have their legislation reviewed at the meeting scheduled for the week of 27 November to 1 December 2000. The status of notifications of laws and regulations by these Members was set out in the note by the Secretariat (JOB(00)/3788) circulated on 20 June 2000. He drew attention to the fact that notifications had been received from only seven of these fourteen Members, at least two of which were incomplete, and that responses to the Checklist of Issues on Enforcement had been received from just three of them. He urged these Members to make their notifications without delay and to provide their responses to the Checklist of Issues on Enforcement well in advance of the November meeting. 33. Continuing, he proposed that, in accordance with the agreed procedures for these reviews, questions for the fourteen Members to be reviewed in November 2000 should be sent in ten weeks before the meeting, that is by 18 September, and the countries concerned should submit their answers in writing to those questions by 30 October. He recalled that it had been agreed at the last meeting that, at the meeting in November, the legislation of St. Lucia would be taken up first, with the other Members being taken up in alphabetical order after St. Lucia.
