Ambassador Chak Mun See (Singapore)
Chairperson
D.iii Arrangements for reviews in November 2000 and in the year 2001
35. Turning to the reviews in 2001, the Chairperson recalled that there were forty-two developing country Members whose legislation had yet to be reviewed, to which should be added two newly-acceded Members, Jordan and Georgia, making a total of forty-four Members. The Council had envisaged that the reviews of these Members would be conducted at three meetings: the first in February/March, the second in June/July and the third in November. Referring to a draft schedule of Members to be reviewed at these meetings, which he had made available following the informal consultations he had held on the matter, he said that some delegations had conveyed difficulties with this schedule. If agreeable to Members, he would try to accommodate those delegations where they had genuine difficulties and circulate a revised schedule prior to the next meeting.
