Republic of Latvia Cabinet Regulation No. 321 - Adopted 10 May 2005 - Regulations Regarding the Amount of the Blank Tape Levy and the Levy of Equipment Used for Reproduction and the Procedures for the Collection, Repayment, Distribution and Disbursement Thereof

The respective Cabinet Regulation concerns blank tape levy which is imposed on the sale of blank recording media and devices, such as USB drives and smartphones, which can be used to make personal copies of copyrighted content. The Regulation states the amount of the levy, the procedures for its collection as well as the procedures by which the levy has to be proportionally distributed among authors, performers and phonogram and film producers.
