Relevant provision of the Hungarian trademark law in force:
-Trademark protection shall be assignable by contract (Article 12).
Under this provision a trademark can be assigned without the transfer of the business to which the trademark belongs. A new law on trademarks is under preparation and is expected to enter into force in July 1997. This provision will be maintained by the draft new law.
