The following, even if they are inventions within the meaning of this Act, shall be excluded from patentability, that is to say, anything which consists of
(a) a discovery, scientific theory or mathematical method;
(b) a scheme, rule or method for doing business, performing a mental act of playing a game; and
(c) methods for the treatment of the human or animal body by surgery or therapy, as well as diagnostic methods practised on the human or animal body. [s. 10(1)]
