172. The representative of Korea noted the EC's clarification that Members could choose any option according to their own rules and regulations. He pointed out that, in some current systems, introducing the concept of prima facie evidence under the TN/C/W/52 proposal could actually decrease the level of protection for traditional famous GIs for wines and spirits, as information provided by other Members could then come into conflict with the current protection of a GI.
