The representative of South Africa recalled that in the regular session Members had discussed a document which clearly stated that the proponents of GI extension wanted this register to be extended to all products as soon as it was so agreed. In her delegation's view, all linkages with other work, including in other WTO areas, should be kept as invisible as possible because they complicated matters.
